Manager/Director Job Opening
MANAGER/DIRECTOR – MASON COUNTY ROAD COMMISSION
The Mason County Road Commission is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Manager/Director. Under the direction of the Board of County Road Commissioners, the Manager/Director directs and/or supervises all functions including project planning and development, human resource/safety management, union labor relations/contract negotiations, financial management and budget control.
The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of Michigan Transportation Funding; a good understanding of local, state, and federal highway financing; must possess strong skills in dealing with the public, employees, government officials, and the business community. Knowledge of road and bridge construction and maintenance is preferred.
A bachelor’s degree in public administration, Business Administration, Engineering, Transportation Planning, or a related field is preferred. At least six (6) years of management and four (4) years of supervisory experience in construction, or a related field, preferably in a unionized setting. Previous Public Works or Road Commission operational experience is preferred. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
