Future All-Season Roadway
S. Jebavy Drive – From US-10 to Pere Marquette Highway

The Mason County Road Commission (MCRC) has purchased approximately 2.8 acres of property behind Family Fare (formerly Shop-N-Save) for a future all-season roadway connection between South Jebavy Drive and Pere Marquette Highway.
South Jebavy Drive, from US-10 south, is currently classified as a local road under the jurisdiction of the MCRC. The MCRC has been working with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) to reclassify S. Jebavy Drive as a Minor Collector. As a Minor Collector, the roadway will become eligible for MDOT funding.
With the recent property acquisition, S. Jebavy Drive will be connected to Pere Marquette Highway. This connection—from US-10 east along S. Jebavy Drive to Pere Marquette Highway—will create an all-season roadway providing year-round access to businesses located along S. Jebavy Drive.
Currently, S. Jebavy Drive is subject to seasonal weight restrictions during February, March, and April. Once South Jebavy Drive and the new connector roadway are reconstructed to all-season standards, the roadway will be open to all legal loads year-round.
Pere Marquette Township will work with the MCRC to improve water and sanitary sewer infrastructure in conjunction with the future road reconstruction.
MDOT and the MCRC are also evaluating whether improvements will be necessary at the intersection of US-10 and Jebavy Drive.
Construction of S. Jebavy Drive and the connecting roadway to Pere Marquette Highway is anticipated to be completed by 2026.
