The policy of the Mason County Road Commission is to only accept applications and resumes when there is a position available. Otherwise, no applications or resumes will be accepted.

At the time a position becomes available, the Mason County Road Commission will advertise in the Ludington Daily News and the Mason County Press.

Applications may be obtained by printing them off below, or you can pick one up at our office located at 510 E. State St. in Scottville, MI, 49454. You may either mail your application to our Scottville office, e-mail it to info@masoncountyroads.com, or drop it off at the office between the hours of 7am and 4:30pm.

Mechanic Wanted

The Mason County Road Commission is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Mechanic. A CDL driver's license is not required to apply but would be required within six months after hire. Candidates experienced in truck and heavy equipment repair, electrical and hydraulic systems, air brakes and fabricating are preferred.

Summer/Seasonal Workers-Closed

The Mason County Road Commission is seeking Summer/Seasonal employees for the position of road worker.  Applicants must be 18 years of age and possess a high school degree or equivalent.  The position is typically 40 hours per week with no benefits. Applications will be Accepted from May 1, 2024 through May 16th 2024.

Summer hours are 6:00 am until 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday with a paid 15-minute break and unpaid 30-minute lunch time.

Duties may include but are not limited to traffic regulating, set up of signs and work zones, road work including hot and cold patching, picking up dead animals, crack pouring, shoveling, raking and more. Safety toed boots with 6” cuffs are required.

The ideal candidate will be in good physical condition and capable of lifting to 50 pounds and performing physical labor in all types of weather conditions.  A valid Michigan Driver’s License is required.  A successful applicant will be able to read and write and follow verbal and written instructions.

Alcohol and drug testing are required.
