The Mason County Road Commission is seeking Summer/Seasonal employees for the position of road worker. Applicants must be 18 years of age and possess a high school degree or equivalent. The position is typically 40 hours per week and pays $13.00 per hour straight time with no benefits.
Summer hours are 6:00 am until 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday with a paid 15-minute break and unpaid 30-minute lunch time.
Duties may include but are not limited to traffic regulating, set up of signs and work zones, road work including hot and cold patching, picking up dead animals, crack pouring, shoveling, raking and more. Safety toed boots with 6” cuffs are required.
The ideal candidate will be in good physical condition and capable of lifting to 50 pounds and performing physical labor in all types of weather conditions. A valid Michigan Driver’s License is required. A successful applicant will be able to read and write and follow verbal and written instructions.
Alcohol and drug testing are required.
